JEREMY STONE - PARTNER
Jeremy Stone focuses on litigation, primarily in the areas of commercial and bankruptcy litigation. He represents both companies and individuals in a wide range of matters, including securities, banking, oil and gas, director and officer liability, fraud, breach of contract, products liability, and accounting and legal malpractice. He also represents trustees and creditors in various litigation matters related to bankruptcies. Additionally, Jeremy handles appeals in both state and federal courts of appeal.
After becoming licensed in 1999, Jeremy worked at Continental Airlines, Inc., negotiating and drafting purchasing agreements and handling warranty issues. Continental was a great company, but Jeremy felt the desire to pursue the excitement of litigation and joined a small admiralty and aviation law firm, where he handled Jones Act cases, cargo disputes, and matters under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act.
In 2002, Jeremy joined the law firm of MehaffyWeber, PC, where he began working with Butch Boyd on large commercial litigation cases, becoming a shareholder in 2008.
In 2017, Jeremy joined the Butch Boyd Law Firm to continue working with Butch, where his practice remains focused on commercial litigation as well as personal injury litigation. Jeremy appreciates the satisfaction that comes with hard work and effort. He prefers to bicycle to work, regardless of the weather, and he prefers vacations that involve sleeping on the ground under the stars. He loves popular culture, particularly comic books and music. He plays guitar and sings in two bands, one that only performs in his garage, and one that occasionally performs in public. More than anything, he loves spending time with his family and hopes that his 12 year-old son will follow his dreams, which right now include becoming a dubstep artist or film director/editor one day.
